Areas of Expertise

Horses

I've been a part of the horse world since I was 7 starting with riding school lessons than moving through multiple hunter/jumper programs in the PNW. I competed up and down the West Coast with my gelding Beau since 2019. Now he's retired and living his best life at home.

Yoga

I decided to get my 200 hour yoga certification the summer of 2024 after practicing yoga on and off since the COVID-19 pandemic. I started teaching in January of 2025 and have taught everything from group classes, private classes, outdoor yoga, and virtual classes. I'm trained to teach power vinyasa and fusion, but love teaching slow flow vinyasa the most.

Psychology

My bachelor's degree is in psychology. I started my college education at Montana State University before transferring home to Central Washington University, completing my degree in just under 3 years.

My Approach

The purpose of the Grounded Equestrian Method is to build intentionality and awareness in order to cultivate success in your equestrian life.

How does the Grounded Equestrian Method teach you intentionality and awareness?

Through yoga asana, yoga philosophy, and psychology backed techniques that help you connect your body and mind. A lack of connection between your body and mind is often where discontent lives.

Why does this cultivate success?

These techniques are mindfulness focused which enables us to take you out of the barn aisle and focus on your first. Then we can create change in your equestrian life.

Where was this approach created?

Honestly, my own reflections as I spent more time doing different mindfulness practices and seeing how my effected my equestrian life. This included when I realized I wasn't taking enough care of myself (not showing up for myself through mindfulness practices). At the end of the day, I realized that I liked how I showed up as an equestrian for myself and my horse on the days that I was also committed to my mindfulness practices compared to the days that I wasn't committing to my mindfulness practice.

That's when I realized there was true value of yoga (backed and supported by psychology) for equestrians.
